For many students sitting Admission Tests run by Cambridge Assessment Admissions Testing the preparation window has just gotten smaller.
For a number of subjects, applicants will now sit their Admissions Test in October as opposed to November.
But what does this mean and how does it affect you? We will go over everything you need to know.
Which Admission Tests Are Affected?
There are four Admission Tests that have been impacted by this decision and they are the BMAT, TMUA, ENGAA and NSAA.
Typically sat in the first week of November, the BMAT and TMUA will be sat on the 18 October with the ENGAA and NSAA the following day on the 19 October.

This is a significant change and means applicants will have two weeks less to prepare for their Admissions Test.
What Dates Do I Need To Know?

You must ensure that you are registered by no later than 30 September 2022, as late registration will not be possible and may result in the application being invalid.

BMAT and TMUA changes
As previously mentioned, the BMAT and TMUA will now be sat on the 18 October 2022 as opposed to early November as it traditionally has been.
However, the actual date of the Admission Test is not the only change that has been made for those applying for 2023/24 entry.
The price of both of the tests has increased this year, jumping from £61 to £75 for UK and EU applicants.
As for the other costs relating to BMAT and TMUA:

Do keep in mind that some test centres add an administration fee to the test registration fee, which covers the cost of invigilation, despatch costs and room hire, which are essential for running the test. Contact your test centre for details.

BMAT Format Change
There is another significant change for those applying to sit the BMAT this year, compared with previous years.
This year, the BMAT will revert back to being a pen-and-paper test like it was prior to 2020.
ENGAA And NSAA Changes
For applicants sitting the ENGAA or NSAA, you will now be sitting them on the 19 October.
As already mentioned the ENGAA and NSAA were due to be sat on 2 November but have been brought forward by two weeks.
Make sure to use your time wisely and utilise the time that you have til you sit them.
There are no other changes that have been made to the running of these Admission Tests, although the NSAA has gone through a specification change you should be aware of.
What Should i do to prepare?
Your preparations should be well underway by now so a strong candidate should have no issue dealing with this change.
By this point in your revision you should have identified your areas of weakness, so make sure you are focussing your efforts on them to not cause yourself undue stress nearer the time.
Make sure to take the time to review your revision plan to make sure that you have plenty of time to cover everything that you wish to ahead of your Admission Test.
